Industry Specific ComplianceThe Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Meghalaya, on August 6, 2026, ordered the closure of all specified liquor-related establishments in Ri Bhoi District on August 15, 2026, on account of Independence Day, under Section 324(A) of the applicable excise law.

The closure order covers IMFL retail shops, bars in hotels, bonded warehouses, bottling units, country-made spirit shops, outstills, breweries, canteens and other specified liquor establishments within the district.

Accordingly, all such establishments are required to remain closed throughout August 15, 2026. The order is issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh.
